2009 BUDGET

The 2009 Federal Budget has seen the halving of concessional and transitional contribution cap provisions. Non concessional limits remain unaltered. Transition to Retirement strategies continue to enjoy investment income but reduced taxable income substitution advantages. Minimum drawdown relief continues for a further year. A portability scheme has been agreed in principle with NZ. The Age Pension system has seen significant changes to age, rate, indexation and work bonus provisions.

For a summary of pension and superannuation changes in the budget please see our dedicated online retirement services website FinsightPlus Pty Ltd.
